some sites have mentioned regarding education in US… dat students have more possibility to get FUNDING by d universities,if d student interacts wid d proffessors workin in dat particular universities…..n….by xpressing d student’s interest in their research work…….. is dat thing true???

    In USA there are 2 type of universities 1)Private & 2)Public.Private universities generally have a high fees structure compare to pubic universities.If you have good GRE & TOEFL score,private universities (also some public universities) will give you scholarship. And best way for funding for study in abroad is the student loan.From SBI you may get loan upto Rs.20,00,000 for study in abroad.

    hi shashank,

    it is true that a student can get financial aid by talking to professors; once a professor is convinced that you are a promising student and that you will do great work, he/she can put in a good word for you with the admissions department;

    of course, the final decision depends with the admissions committee; however, a good word from a faculty member, can ensure admissions and can also open up other options like TA ship, etc
